How's Hillary Doing in Google Trends?
I am still surprised that people do not spend half of their spare time fooling with Google's inspiring and innovative tool; Google Trends. Whenever I am a little bored or curious to hold the heart beat of the entire world;s searching trend, I visit Google Trends.
I was wondering how Hillary Clinton was doing in terms of getting voters to search for her name on Google. Thus, I went to G. Trends and made a quick little search. Here is the result:
As you can see above, Hillary clearly is searched more on Google in New York, NY. Is this surpsrising? Probably not. Does this tell us that G. Trends is a safe method to predict the winner of the elections? We do not know that yet but we will after the elections. I want all of you to come back to my blog and check out this article again to see if we did a good job predicting the winner (at least in particular cities).
I personally assume that the democratic race is pretty much between Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama. Let's see how the above 10 cities (which are the top 10 cities in US where people extensively search for Mrs. Clinton) cheat on Mrs. Clinton by also checking out one of her competitors?
As can be seen Hillary is doing very well in New York but we cannot say the same thing for some of her Top cities. Check out Cambridge, and Austin. Looks like Mr. Obama is already ahead of Mrs. Clinton in these two cities asuming that people vote for the name who they search for mostly on Google. As I said earlier, we'll be able to conclude this hypothesis after the elections.
More to come about my reseach on Google Trends.
