CBS 2 morning news anchor Randy Salerno passed away in a snowmobiling accident in Eagle River last Thursday. Scott Hirschey – one of his boyhood friend - was formally charged Tuesday night with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Salerno was a passenger on a snowmobile driven by Hirschey last Thursday night when they crashed into trees in northern Wisconsin. Although Salerno's family said that they don't want to see Hirschey prosecuted in the case, this declaration did not help to overcome the public’s curiosity of this mysterious accident.
Both Rudy Giuliani and John Edwards quit the race for presidency today. It was a little late but finally it happened. Not that I don't like these two candidates but let's face it. There was no way they could have made it. We knew about it from months ago but I guess "hope" was their concept. What's going to happen now? What is going to happen to all the votes that were going to go to one of these two candidates? It might look like Obama will benefit from this but US politics have a way to surprise us in many different ways.

Based on Brando's family's request LA Coutny coroner opened an ivestigation for Marlon Brando's eldest son Chritian Brando's death. Autposy has already been executed on Brando's body however the results will take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive. Brado's death at the age of 49 was a shock to his family although hehad a well known history of medication and drugs.
It was a slightly different attitude that the hottest couple on earth, had the other day during SAG Awards. We are used to seeing this couple quite serious most of the time and almost never too intimate with each other under the spot lights. However, it was a different night for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt during the SAG Awards a few days ago. I do not know if it is about Angelina possibly being pregnant but there for sure was something going on. They are either becoming very comfortable with each other, or are finally not afraid of displaying their love for each other. Grammy Awards this year will not be impacted by the Writers' strike since the organizers of the award show have finally come to an agreement with the writers. So this year's award show will be written by Union members. Although we have really enjoyed the smart little jokes of TV's talented gossip show personalities at the Golden Globe Awards, I am not sure if we could handle the same for the Grammy Awards as well.

Last month during Critics' Choice Awards the rumor for Angelina's pregnancy started due to her only drinking soda water. Reason is an article that OK published and claimed that Jessica was dumped by her boyfriend Tony Romo, after his team's elimination from NFL playoffs. Michelle Williams was in Sweden for the shootings of her upcoming movie when she got the news on her ex fiancée Heath Ledger and his tragic death. She expressed to sources that words cannot describe how much pain she is in. Heath Ledger is the father of her daughter Matilda and after their break up, Michelle and Heath were still good friends and a family. The biggest question now everyone but especially family members have is the cause of Oscar nominated actor's death. In one of his interviews after his daughter's birth, Ledger told that death comes easier to him now that he feels like he is living inside his daughter, but also said that he does not want to die because he wants to spend more time with his child.

According to New York Police Heath Ledger was found dead in an apartment in 421 Broome Street in SoHo. At around 3 in the afternoon a masseuse arrived at the apartment. The masseuse was let into the apartment by the house keeper. But when Heath Ledger did not answer all the knocking on his bedroom door, they went in and found him unconcious. Police states that they found pills next to him on the floor. This strengthens the possibility of a commit suicide.

Actor Kiefer Sutherland was released yesterday after serving 48 days in Southern California jail. Sutherland was sentenced to jail for drunken driving and violating probation. But it is not yet over for him, since he will serve 5 years of probation and complete six months of therapy sessions.

Angelina Jolie was spotted at the Critics' Choice Awards drinking water rather than her usual. The current buzz is that Angelina is expecting. Besides her decline of alcohol she also seems to have put on some weight and look much healthier. And perhaps has the glow of preganancy. Very exciting....Can't wait for the bump watch.
What business does a Mayor have on MySpace? Mayor of Arlington, Carmen Kontur-Gronquist, have recently been under a lot of criticism because of her pictures on MySpace with underwear. She recently announced that she will not step down from her position and that this is relevant to her personal life. The very sad thing is not that it is not appropriate for a Mayor to post these pictures all by herself and will, but it is sad that someone being this much mentally challenged can still become a mayor. LA Times reported today that Allan Melvin, a popular actor who played Cpl. Henshaw on the "The Phil Silvers Show" and later played Archie Bunker's friend Barney on "All in the Family," has died at the age of 84.
Miss America 2007, Lauren Nelson was on "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader" tonight. She answered a fourth grade math question correct and won $175K for Miss America Organization. She was even smarter when she decided to take the money and not answer the second question. Her guess turned out to be wrong. So it was a happy ending for her to prove that she was smarter than at least a fourth grader.
According to Reuters article four paparazzi reporters got arrested for reckless driving after chasing Britney Spears' car in LA streets. Police said that Britney's car was part of the group but she was not driving recklessly. She actually told the police that one of the paparazzi cars tried to run her off the road.
After only 2 weeks of being married to Tracey Edmonds, Eddie Murphy is single again. The couple announced that they are seperated but will remain friends. The government of Afghanistan via its Information and Culture Ministry, banned the movie, "Kite Runner" on the grounds that it can incite violence specifically between Pashtun and Hazara tribes. "Kite Runner" displays some of the cultural and social aspects of the Afghan society for over three decades. This includes the period before the Soviet invasion and through the rise of the Taliban. The movie integrates the friendship between Amir (Wealthy Pashtun), and Hassan (Servant Hazara). Not to ruin the movie for anyone who has not watched it yet but in the movie, Hassan (Hazara tribe) gets raped by a group of kids from Pashtun tribe. American Idol premieres its seventh season tomorrow. Although it has been a huge success for the last 7 seasons, there are many people out there that believe AI will not make it much longer. One of those people is one of AI's own, Chris Daughtry who today told Rolling Stone that the show is "lacking some credibility" and "probably isn't gonna last too much longer". Being a product of the most recent season of the idol, I believe Chris has not been around for too long to forecast the success of the show that created himself. Britney Spears finally decided to show up today at the Los Angeles courthouse for a hearing to win back visitation rights to her two children. However, Spears arrived hours late to the courthouse and after getting off the car, she went right back in and drive off. Huh???

Screenwriter Roger Avary was arrested on Sunday after a fatal car crash in the city of Ojai. Avary, is the co-writer of the Oscar Winning classic "Pulp Fiction" (1995). The Oscar winner is now released from jail after a $50,000 bail however he is being charged with manslaughter and DUI. One of the passengers in Avary's car, Andreas Zedin (34), has died at a local hospital after the crash. Also, Avary's wife was hospitalized with serious injuries.
